Back in the days, when WoW was still in Alpha version, certain character models looked… different. I was completely unaware of how different exactly until I read this thread.

I understand they wanted to make the horde females more attractive somehow, but damn… the old female troll model looked a lot better!
Please, Blizz, can’t you at least give me the big ears? :<
Wow, what a difference on some of them. I really think I prefer the newer female Tauren models, but the old female Troll model is awesome! Especially the ears.
Oh yes, I agree about the female tauren, they definitely look better now. In the old version they looked like males with a cleavage o.O
Even though I really love the way the female trolls look now, I do wish they had those awesome long ears…

I like some aspects of each model. I disliked the noodle-esque arms on the old trolls, and I thought the big ears were poorly rendered…but something about them has much more personality. Female trolls are obnoxious to draw if you base them on the current models. The faces are very human, and the tusks just don’t seem to ‘fit’ well. There’s also the matter of size difference and whatnot, though that’s not too bad…
