As any MMORPG, WoW is designed to keep you entertained (and thus a paying customer) over a long period of time. As such there are many different goals to pursue, and many different things to collect. You can collect gear, arena points, gold, tradeskill recipes, tabards, vanity pets, and a whole myriad of other stuff - and we love it. Let’s face it, we all have a little chipmunk inside of us, that urges us to collect and collect and collect!
My latest collecting interest, however, is probably a bit of an unusual one. Guild ranks.
Yes, you read that right: I collect guild ranks. There’s this nifty addon called CowTip, which replaces the standard Blizzard tooltips with much more detailed ones. For example, if I mouse over another player, I not only see their name, guild and level, but also their talents and guild rank.
And I love it. Even though most guilds have pretty boring ranks (”officer”, “raider”, “alt”, etcetera) there are luckily also some guild leaders that are a bit more creative. Or bad at typing. Whichever the case, I screenshot them all.

In other “news” (?) I apologise for having been lazy with my blog. It’s not that I’ve stopped playing (far from it!), but rather that I’ve recently had more fun playing the game than writing about it. Hopefully I can motivate myself to do some necessary maintenance to this blog the upcoming weekend (rewrite some posts, add categories, repair the style sheets, weed out my blogroll…) and post a big article that I currently have in the works. Stay tuned.
